BBQ Chicken French Bread Pizza
I love French bread pizza because it’s much easier than making pizza dough from scratch or dealing with store-bought dough. You also get a bit more bread and more of a crunch that your go-to pie. It’s also great because it’s so quick to put together for a late-night dinner or last-minute weekend gathering.
This French bread pizza is topped with baked BBQ chicken, jalapeños, red onions, cheeses, and more BBQ sauce of course. This stands on it’s own as a quick meal, but you can also serve it with a salad (like a spicy kale Caesar salad). It makes about four servings with eight slices but you can slice it thinner to serve as a snack or starter.
It’s time to preheat that oven! Enjoy!
What kind of BBQ sauce do I use for BBQ chicken French bread pizza?
Use your favorite BBQ sauce! I really like Sweet Baby Ray’s original BBQ sauce but you can use your favorite store-bought sauce if you like more heat—or maybe something more sweet.
Of course, you can always make your own if you have time!
Do I need to use French bread for French bread pizza?
Well, it’s in the recipe name after all. French bread is great because of the size and it’s soft on the inside but makes a crispy crunch when baked. It’s common to find so-called French bread in any major grocery store, but I know firsthand you can’t always find it.
If you can’t find it, you can use Ciabatta because it has a similar size but it will be a bit thinner. And don't confuse this for Baguette (an actual type of French bread) because it’s way to small for all of these toppings.
